Jason & Shauna
Oh man, where do I begin! Jason and Shauna’s wedding day was tremendous! It was at Flying Horse Ranch up in Fairplay, CO and it was so lovely and colorful!! Jason and Shauna are world travelers and that played a big part in the decor of their day. Shauna hand made the boutineers for Jason and his groomsman out of money from a trip abroad. Shauna is also an art teacher at a high school, where some of her students hand made the bouquets for the bridesmaids and also did the calligraphy of their vows. Pretty cool, right? …there’s more! Shauna had a stunning yellow wedding dress! Yeah I know, but it doesn’t stop there! This was one of the most emotional ceremonies I have ever attended. It was set up on a very pretty hill, with some pretty great mountain backdrops and it was going to be a wonderful ceremony, but then the rain came. Anyone who follows my work, knows that I love it when it rains! Something about it makes everyone all the more present; phones disappear and emotions start to flare. So the rain came down so hard that it forced every one down the hill to a barn at the bottom of the hill and that is when the magic happened!! I was most impressed with Jason and Shauna as they took this all in stride with smiles and full of JOY! I loved it! Anyway during the ceremony one of the bridesmaids sang this breathtaking song.. I mean I was shuttering along with my camera 🙂 Let me try to paint you a picture of this. After trekking down the hill in the rain, all of the couples closest family and friends huddle in a barn and after the commotion settles one beautiful voice sings about love accompanied only by the percussion of the raindrops on the roof and sniffling of an captivated crowd! To make matters worse Jason started dancing with his bride, right in the door way… he just stared loving on her… goodness it was so romantic! I teared up three times while editing that section and then again right now. Afterwards Jackie, my amazing second shooter for the day caught this beautiful expression on Shauna’s face, it spoke so loudly when I saw it in post. It seemed to clearly say “With THIS love we will conquer it all”! I am sure it means something different to everyone, but for me it was the exclamation point after a wonderful and lasting statement of affection ! No, no it didn’t end there.. Then they had an amazing meal by A Spice of life. It was so so good. At the end of the night they got down and danced it all out! You know, with the kind of energy where the caterers and photographers can’t help but to join in and dance too. It was that kind of day, more than wonderful and simply perfect! I have to give a huge shout out to Jackie Zoeller for being an insane second shooter and amazing friend, there is so much emotion in her images! Thanks Jackie! And of course to Jason & Shauna, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your day! I hope you enjoy the images!
