Vietnamese Tea Ceremony

I had the privilege of attending Anh and Brad’s wonderful Vietnamese tea ceremony and wedding in Denver, CO.  I am so excited to share some favorite from her tea ceremony, it was so wonderfully emotive.  When I met Anh for the first time we became friends instantly, she has the spirit that makes you want open up and live more.  She brims with truth, grace and beauty… I have had the best brides this year.  The Best.  Anyhow,  I want to share how they began their day.  They had a tea ceremony in which the two families “met”,  the bride and groom served tea to their parents and grandparents, they sang songs, prayed and passed warm hugs.  The ceremony, being a very traditional aspect of a Vietnamese wedding, evoked some raw emotion.  You’ll see a couple of run away tears escape at the calmest of moments.  I love when this happens, their tears had a purpose beyond being shed.   It was a pleasure to witness the joining of Anh & Brad’s families and honor to photograph them.  Big shout out to my main man Steven for second shooting with me on this one, he is so freaking good!
