Conor & Kirsten
This Quaker wedding in Vail, Colorado was simply fuel for me. It moved me in so many ways. It happens every now and then that a wedding is more than the sum of its parts, a celebration so filled with grace and love that it becomes something more like a fairy tale. It’s almost unbelievably great, the kind of wedding that makes you believe in romance and love..however you look at it this wedding was special for me. When Kirsten and Conor met with me last year they asked me to share my favorite venue. I thought of Eaton Ranch, a magical spot outside of Vail, that only opens its doors to one wedding a year. It has a beautiful 360 degree aspen grove and a beautiful clearing of land that is perfect for an outdoor reception. When they booked this Venue, I was over the moon! Their Quaker Ceremony was in the round and had no officiant, instead it was lead by the quaking Aspen, by the softly spoken thoughts and prayers of those in attendance and a wave of an undeniable spirit. For me it was moment after moment, deepness after deepness, click after click. Goodness! It was wonderful. The ceremony was so full of emotion that my eyes swell thinking of it as I write. Love was in the air and it whispered through the aspens and filled the lungs of everyone present. There is so much more that I could say about the ceremony alone, but I have to point out what happened directly after. You see, it’s often that right after the ceremony there is a recessional and the newly weds and the family and bridal party hug it out and have a wonderful moment. What was unique about this one one was although I thought the peak of emotion occurred at the end of the ceremony, it hadn’t. It was up the trail a bit where the scales tipped. Hopefully you will see that there is this beautiful moment where family is created. It’s forged with sincere hugs and bound together with tears. It’s the reason I do what I do. On the trip up to Vail my second shooter Ali and I asked each other why we shoot weddings. My answer was because I get to see the formation of family, the cross-section of children and grandparents, uncles and Aunts that I don’t get to experience in my own life. Gosh, it’s simply wonderful to see unbridled love! Thank You Kirsten and Conor for sharing your family and your love with me. The wedding was completely aces. Gourmet Cowboy did a stellar job planning/decorating a serving a fantastic meal! A Big thanks to Mike at Eaton Ranch for opening your doors! And a huge shout out to my friend and fellow image creator Ali V for sharing her company and talent with me! I hope you get out of this, what I got out of it. I hope it’s fuel.
